Straighter smiles look great, function better, and are easier to keep healthy, but sometimes getting from the smile you’re born with to the straight, healthy smile you deserve seems like more hassle than it’s worth. If you’re one of the many patients who’ve been putting off orthodontic care because you don’t want to spend months or years with traditional bracket and wire braces, ClearCorrect may be a great option. At the Enterprise dental office of Tyler B. Shaffeld, DMD, we are happy to offer this innovative alignment tray orthodontic treatment as a viable alternative to traditional braces for many patients. To find out more, call our Enterprise dentist and team to schedule a ClearCorrect consultation today. We’ll assess your smile and help you find the best option to achieve your alignment goals.
ClearCorrect is an alignment tray orthodontic system that can be used to effectively straighten smiles even for those patients with advanced misalignment like over, under, or crossbite. Traditional braces are not the right orthodontic solution for every patient, and ClearCorrect is a viable alternative for many.
Traditional braces use brackets attached to the front facing surfaces of teeth and connected wires to move teeth into alignment. The wires are adjusted to place pressure on specific teeth, moving them into position. ClearCorrect uses a series of clear aligners to perform the same function. Each set of alignment trays represents your smile one step closer to the desired end result. You’ll wear these aligners for about two weeks. Then, exchange them for the next set of aligners. With checkups every six to eight weeks, you’ll see your desired end result in about a year of treatment.
Interested in straightening your teeth without years of “metal mouth?” Then schedule a consultation with Dr. Schaffeld to find out if you’re a candidate for ClearCorrect clear aligners! They have proven to be effective at addressing mild to moderate cases of the following orthodontic issues:
Ideally, your teeth should sit next to each other evenly, not overlapping or crowding together in any way. If that’s not the case for you because there simply isn’t enough room in your mouth, don’t worry – we may be able to move your teeth into proper alignment with ClearCorrect. If that’s the case, then your teeth will move closer and closer to their ideal positions with each new aligner, and you’ll be able to watch the whole process since there aren’t any metal brackets or wires!
If you are struggling with the opposite problem (there is too much space in your mouth), then there may be a large gap between your two front teeth or several smaller spaces throughout your smile. Either way, the next step should be scheduling an appointment with us to see if you’re a candidate for ClearCorrect! If you are, then we will create a custom treatment plan as well as a custom set of trays so your teeth are gently and safely moved into their proper places.
An overbite is when your upper teeth jut out beyond your lower ones significantly. This might not seem like much of a problem, but when your bite isn’t aligned properly, you’re at an increased risk for chronic jaw pain, TMJ dysfunction, difficulty chewing, and more. That’s why we recommend coming in for an exam, even if your case is minor. We can use ClearCorrect to bring your bite into proper alignment, benefiting multiple aspects of your smile in the process.
Oftentimes, patients with underbites are interested in orthodontic treatment because of the aesthetic drawbacks. However, this bite problem can lead to numerous other issues, including chronic jaw pain, premature wear and tear on certain teeth, and trouble enunciating clearly. In other words, even if you are happy with your smile, you should schedule a consultation with us to see if you’re a candidate for ClearCorrect; we want your smile to be healthy and function properly too.
As you may have guessed from the name, a crossbite is essentially a mix of a normal bite and an underbite. So, some, but not all, of the lower teeth sit in front of the upper teeth. Unfortunately, patients with this bite problem are at an increased risk of dental damage, like chips and cracks, because the pressure isn’t distributed evenly. The good news is that cases that aren’t too severe can often be corrected with ClearCorrect!
When you bite down, your teeth should come together evenly. If that’s not the case for you, then you might have an open bite. In this case, we recommend coming to our Enterprise dental office to see if ClearCorrect is an option for you. That way, we can straighten your teeth and align your bite without the metal!
The ClearCorrect orthodontic system offers patients many advantages when compared to other treatment options, including:
