Ever since he can remember, Dr. Schaffeld has always been great with his hands and got along well with people. For him, dentistry was the perfect intersection between art, science, engineering, and socializing with amazing individuals every day. While his work is challenging, it’s also incredibly rewarding when he gets to see how the lives of others can improve from something as simple as cleaning to completely restoring a patient’s smile.
After graduating from Hermiston High School, Dr. Schaffeld went on to study at Central Washington University for his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (graduating first in his class!). He then attended Oregon Health and Science University to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine, graduating with honors and second in his class.
Today, Dr. Schaffeld also earned certifications in various topics, including Basic Life Support and his minimal sedation permit (receiving additional training in IV moderate sedation). He is an active and proud member of professional organizations like:
Away from treating and maintaining people’s pearly whites, Dr. Schaffeld typically spends much of his time with his three beautiful daughters and their yellow Labrador. Outside of dentistry, he also enjoys archery elk hunting, hiking, backpacking, fishing, and being with family and loved ones.
